Font Color - Custom Fonts

Using parseBMP to load custom font which is working as expected. See image below. Now, i try to set the font-color, but i can't this getting working. I think poco is using bitmap images but in the pebble source is just exporting the alpha one? do i miss something?

black on white and white on black is working, but as soon as i set a color, its not working. using the pebble native fonts, the color is rendered correct, but not for the custom ones.

Thank you for the report. We fixed a similar issue a little while back. That should be included in the most recent firmware. Please add the version of the Pebble OS firmware and Pebble SDK you are using to this report. Thanks!

monochrome needs to be true, otherwise font is rendered black (as before). not sure but i would expect the oposit behavior. true = no colors, false = with colors?

That's a real bug. Here "monochrome" refers to the font data itself - 1-bit fonts. Often that is what you want for Pebble – it looks reasonable and the data is small. The color applied when rendering the font is independent of that. A non-monochrome font is grayscale which means that there is anti-aliasing in the font. Because Pebble has a limited palette of 64 colors, anti-aliasing is minimal and of varying effectiveness depending on the color you use to render the font.

I'm leaving this issue open as a reminder to look into the grayscale font rendering with colors.

Quick update – color rendering of anti-aliased fonts will be part of the upcoming Moddable SDK June release, and should be integrated into Alloy shortly thereafter.
