Getting started with machine connectivity.

Hi There,

I am fairly new to this, I have my own manufacturing business looking to connect my cnc's online. I want to understand the whole architecture to build this. For UI I can use AI, but for machine connectivity as I see we use MTconnect adapter. How does the data get captured,read and then interpreted to the UI. And how can trakhound help me. Please keep you answers simple to understand.
My controllers are FANUC oi mf and oi tf plus.

@Apx918 The typical architecture is the below:

Application	Description
MTConnect Adapter	Translates the specific machine controller data for the Agent
MTConnect Agent	Provides a Web Server for other applications to access machine data in a standard format
TrakHound MTConnectServer	Collects data from the Agent, stores the data in a SQL database, provides a central API for other applications to access both realtime and historical data
UI App	Reads from the TrakHound MTConnectServer API and displays data on a dashboard, reports, etc.

Since the Agent doesn't store the data long term, you will need a way to read the data from the Agent and store it in some type of database. TrakHound offers a MTConnectServer application to collect the data from MTConnect Agents and store that data in a SQL database. It also provides a central API that other applications can access such as dashboards, reports, etc.
