• RFE: joint off-diagonal endpoint decomposition for ERA/feature-pattern performance and behavioral associations

• RFE: regtype="ridge" for rsa_model(), scored by leave-one-predictor-out ΔR²

  bbuchsbaum/rMVPA#88 · Filter by author bbuchsbaum opened on Sep 4, 2026

• banded_ridge: metric="correlation" aborts the whole run on one degenerate response; mse completes on identical data, and the error names nothing

• feature_rsa near-zero-variance guard on F ignores feature_standardize and uses an absolute threshold: rescaling F by a constant fails every ROI

• banded ridge: .brs_prepare() re-standardises the design on every candidate fit (~43% of runtime); band Grams likewise theta-independent (~2%)

• use_shard() + future::multicore fails all ROIs: backend="default" tears down the segment then runs anyway

  bbuchsbaum/rMVPA#83 · Filter by author bbuchsbaum opened on Sep 3, 2026

• feature_rsa ridge: lambda selection saturates at grid boundary in all parcels; below-chance performance at narrow feature widths

• Info: measured memory/runtime profile of feature_rsa (pca vs ridge) at 400 parcels and wide feature bands

• run_regional: short tables invite silent recycling when stacking subjects; add an id-aligned aggregation helper

  bbuchsbaum/rMVPA#75 · Filter by author bbuchsbaum opened on Aug 30, 2026

• feature_rsa ridge: default lambda grid caps at 100, and every response saturates the ceiling with no warning

• Docs: worked example for building an mvpa_dataset from derived/ROI timeseries (and that run_regional does the ROI extraction)

• feature_rsa_model: ncomp_selection="loo" default costs O(n) multivariate fits per fold — unusable for timeseries-length n, with no warning

• Expose banded ridge for single-domain encoding models, with per-voxel lambda (78% accuracy gain at low SNR)
