From f27c463b965615c575b6dbdacdea9998367c3d31 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: fjmorant Date: Sat, 26 Sep 2026 22:52:55 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] docs: point the examples at the Expo app, which is the only one now The README offered two example apps. One of them, the bare React Native project, targeted React Native 0.70.1 from October 2022 and pinned Node 16 and Ruby 2.7.5, all end of life, so it had not built on a current machine for a long time. Anyone following that link got a repository they could not run. It is now archived, with a README pointing at the Expo app in its place. Keeping it going would have meant carrying two example apps, and this library is pure JavaScript with no native module: it installs and behaves identically in a bare app and in an Expo one, so the bare app demonstrated nothing the Expo app does not. The second app was cost without coverage, and three years of no updates is the evidence. The version table now names the Expo SDK, since that is what decides whether the app runs at all, and says the library version is 1.0.0. The clone-and-run commands are there because the point of an example is being able to try it without reading first.
