running .run() twice for a failing function pod 'succeeds' on the second try

As a specific example, I ran:

preprocess_output_stream.run(ray_engine)

which would fail for several reasons as I debugged, but if I ever accidentally ran the cell that contained the code a second time, it would immediately complete as successful.
