Configuration of Fixed Live Preview Port Number?

Understood you can configure your own server instead of the built-in server, but is there a way to configure the built-in server to use a fixed port?

The built in server usually fixes the port for each project. So a single project should use the same port always. Is there any specific requirement?

This behaviour is not exactly what I have been experiencing, I would say it changes on every open of the app, which appears to then be random. I am loading JSON using during JS development from the a folder within the project, but now I am just retrieving the window.location to retrieve the server URL detail. Thank you.

That is quite strange, the only time it should select separate ports for the same project is if there are two windows of phoenix code open for the same project. Which OS is this?

This could be the issue, possibly two preview browsers open at the same time. I think we can close this one

Do you require a hardcoded port number in your application?

Thank you for all your responses. I believe it is down to multiple windows open. Although I can dynamically determine the URL in my client side code, I still think an option to override and hard-code a port would be nice. For now, I will try avoid opening multiple preview browser windows.
