Link to the original asciinema cast next to the GIF in Getting Started.
GIF is a low quality inflexible medium. One can't pause/resume, can't rewind/skip, can't speed up/down, and can't copy text.
The asciinema cast generated from the source template could be uploaded to asciinema.org and linked in the markdown file.
Alternatively, the GIF itself could be replaced by embedding an interactive asciinema player.
