This community-maintained project aims to provide up-to-date, unbiased, open-source resources, accurate data and useful features centered around the Minecraft server 2b2t.

Our team personally provides

• an open, public world archive for anyone to contribute to,
• a live-updated 2b2t map website,
• a 2b2t wayback machine Minecraft server to view historical snapshots or live updates of 2b2t's world in-game,
• open-source software (including our own custom file format) for handling large-scale world archival, and more to come.

One of our goals is to have a continuous, ongoing world download project, that never ends, with public torrents released after major world downloads and on a regular scheduled basis. Our main mission is to keep the 2b2t community posted on new projects, changes to the server, software, exploits, archives, useful links, and data, all in one place.

2b2t.place is an independent and unofficial community-maintained project and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by 2b2t, Mojang or Microsoft.

The 2b2t.place team consists of people who are interested in large-scale archival and upkeep of an important piece of the internet's history. As unhappy as we are with how anti-anarchy 2b2t has become, we still wish to keep the core community alive at all costs, and to ensure everything there is to know about 2b2t is archived forever. The contributors, staff, and project maintainers wish to share what they have to offer through enriching services and projects that provide quality and value.

The project used to be privately funded, but now we have opened it to include public support as well. We have a Patreon page which helps keep us going. Additional profits made from donations to the project are reinvested into interesting large-scale 2b2t projects to keep the spirit alive.

The 2b2t.place team has created and released the current largest world download in Minecraft and 2b2t history, spanning a sidelength of 1,024,000 blocks in the overworld, a sidelength of 100,000 blocks in the nether, and a sidelength of 256,000 blocks in the end. The team continues put in major efforts to create the largest ongoing archive the community has ever seen.

Because it's fun. But also due to the fact that we as a community can no longer trust the owner(s) of 2b2t to operate a no-reset anarchy server. 2b2t is no longer anarchy, and it is no longer no-reset. This project aims as a third party large-scale archival of everything that has happened on the server and everything that happens going forward. We aim to preserve all 2b2t history and as much of the map as possible, in the case that anything happens to 2b2t that causes major outrage and community distrust again. The server deserves to live on indefinitely, and the actions of the current owner(s) should not hinder that.
