Linked issue

Closes #2191

Second and final slice of #2191, after #2192. The background jobs and NaN provider screenshots listed in the issue are not included and will be tracked separately.

PR type

  • Documentation only

Summary

  • Turn the long folded detail (customize, audio, YOLO, NaN provider, installer, upgrade channels) into labelled bullet lists. Every sentence is kept verbatim; only grouping and list markup change.
  • Apply one feature-section template: Customize gets its own section instead of living inside Command palette, Audio notifications, Background jobs, and the NaN provider get the same "name — tagline" titles as the other features, and feature links share one format.
  • Tighten the hero so the tagline appears once, and drop the installer-preview sentence that Path C repeated from the download section.

Changes

File Change
README.md Folded detail as lists, Customize section, completed feature titles with stable anchors (#background-jobs, #nan-model-provider), unified link format, Background jobs docs link, hero compaction, duplicate sentence removed
odd/tasks/readme-polish.md ODD task record for this slice

Where to review

Commits are split by work unit:

  1. docs(readme): turn long folded detail into short lists
  2. docs(readme): use one link format across feature sections
  3. docs(readme): state the hero tagline once
  4. docs(readme): give customize its own section and complete feature titles

For commit 1, the sentences are unchanged; reviewing the rendered <details> blocks is faster than the line diff.

Test plan

  • node --experimental-strip-types --test tests/package-manifest.test.ts tests/review-ledger-contract.test.ts tests/odd-routing-contract.test.ts tests/gentle-ai.test.ts: 218 passed, 0 failed, on each commit and after rebasing onto main.
  • Scripted check that the folded text is identical to the previous version apart from list markers and labels.
  • Internal anchor check: every #anchor link in the README resolves.
  • Before/after renders through the GitHub Markdown API for every change.
  • Shellcheck: not applicable (no scripts changed).
  • Skill loading: not applicable (no skills changed).

Contributor checklist

  • Linked issue is approved (status:approved)
  • Exactly one type:* label (type:docs)
  • Conventional commit format
  • No Co-Authored-By trailers
  • Docs updated (this PR is documentation)

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Reorganized the README into titled sections, with links to the command palette, background jobs, NaN model provider, and installation wizard.
    • Expanded guidance on customization defaults, audio notification options and platform-specific fallbacks, YOLO safeguards, NaN model discovery and output limits, installer tool selection and Windows security checks, and upgrade and rollback behavior.
    • Updated the “Built for Pi” banner with Gentle-AI attribution and linked to the installation wizard.

Split the customize, audio, YOLO, NaN provider, installer, and upgrade channel details into labelled bullet lists. Every sentence is kept verbatim; only grouping and list markup change.
Render the full-breakdown link like the other feature links instead of a blockquote, and link Background jobs to its section in docs/gentle-shell.md.
Drop the hero line that restated the tagline and merge the two Built for Pi lines into one.
Move /gentle:customize out of the command palette section into its own Customize section, give Audio notifications, Background jobs, and the NaN provider the same 'name — tagline' titles as the other features with stable anchors, and drop the installer-preview sentence that Path C repeated from the download section.

Customize had no link although docs/gentle-shell.md documents its Cards category. Link Card style and content with a label that names what the page covers, and correct the T2 note. Addresses CodeRabbit review on Gentleman-Programming#2203.

Thanks, @ElCaaarnal. Reviewed the diff at 3d4ff615 and found no actionable introduced defects.

The added documentation links resolve, the existing section anchors are preserved, and the folded lists retain the substantive content. The installer preview warning also remains in the README.

This was a source-level Markdown review, with an independent verification pass. No browser-rendered visual check or tests were run for these presentation-only changes.
