Summary

  • Regenerates the OpenAPI client from chat master (a0141d8f, includes #16794).
  • Additive Feeds surface: activity_marks (per-activity track_seen / track_read on content feed groups), plus other additive fields (feed group scope, ranking-related config, etc.).
  • Not a major: campaign/batch-reaction OpenAPI breaks from v238.0.1 were reverted in chat #16794; this regen does not reintroduce StopCampaignResponse / UpdateCampaignResponse.

Test plan

  • Local generate + unit/build where toolchain allowed
  • CI on this PR

Made with Cursor

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added activity-mark tracking configuration and feed-group scoping for activity queries.
    • Added filtering and pagination options for activities, members, bans, and channels.
    • Added Unity Desktop and Unity Console rate-limit reporting and filtering.
    • Added options to hide channel history before a specified time and skip truncation during deletion.
    • Added moderation confidence scores, reaction-count automation settings, expanded S3 export configuration, and activity deletion totals in run statistics.

Add activity_marks and other additive Feeds fields from chat master after #16794.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The change expands public chat and feed APIs with optional request controls, Unity rate-limit filters, activity-mark configuration, feed-group scopes, and additional model fields for querying, moderation, automation, exports, and lifecycle data.

Changes

API contract expansion

Layer / File(s) Summary
Chat request options
getstream/chat/*, getstream/models/__init__.py
Chat channel operations support hide_history_before and skip_truncate in synchronous and asynchronous clients and request models.
Feed configuration and rate limits
getstream/feeds/rest_client.py, getstream/models/__init__.py, tests/test_activity_marks_ranking.py
Feed groups support activity_marks. Activity queries support feed-group scopes. Feed rate-limit clients and responses support Unity platform filters. Serialization coverage validates activity-mark settings.
Common rate-limit filters
getstream/common/*
Rate-limit requests accept unity_desktop and unity_console filters.
Additional model fields
getstream/models/__init__.py
Models add processing, pagination, date and user ranges, moderation, automation, export, lifecycle, and deletion fields.

This API regeneration adds feed, rate-limit, and chat options, but existing positional callers can have arguments bound to different request fields and send unintended or invalid requests. Preserve compatibility before merging.

246-255: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Preserve the existing positional parameter order.

The new parameter changes the third positional argument from custom_unset to hide_history_before. Existing callers that pass custom_unset positionally will send a list where the API expects a datetime. This can produce an invalid batch-update request.

Append hide_history_before after the existing optional parameters in both clients.

  • getstream/chat/rest_client.py#L242-L251: move hide_history_before after data.

Keep the new parameters after endpoints in both public clients.

Inserting the new parameters before endpoints changes the binding of existing positional calls.

Preserve positional compatibility for the public methods.

activity_marks is inserted before existing optional parameters in create_feed_group, get_or_create_feed_group, and update_feed_group. unity_desktop and unity_console are inserted before server_side in get_feeds_rate_limits.

Because these parameters are not keyword-only, existing positional callers can now bind values to different options. Append the new parameters after the existing parameters, or make the compatibility break explicit in the package version.

Also applies to: 1793-1793, 1836-1836, 2063-2064

Use a fixture-backed test class.

Move this test into a test class. Create a fixture that injects the CreateFeedGroupRequest instance instead of constructing it in the test body.

As per coding guidelines: "Use fixtures to inject objects in tests" and "Keep tests well organized and use test classes to group similar tests".
