Built at the LOCALHOST AI Hackathon (Grand Rapids, MI · Sep 2025).
Upload a photo of a receipt and get back structured data (store, items, totals) as a downloadable CSV.
- The Django web app sends the uploaded receipt to an n8n webhook.
- The n8n workflow compresses the image, extracts text with the OCR.space API, and uses an OpenAI model (GPT-4.1 mini) to pull out the receipt fields.
- Results return to the app for CSV download, with error responses for unreadable or invalid images.
I built the n8n workflow (n8n Workflow.json), covering the OCR, AI extraction, and error-handling pipeline. The Django app was built by teammate Arriza Wibowo.
