The Mythbuntu v36 PPA and Multiverse Repository Have No v36 arm*.deb Files

It appears that the auto-building of the v36 arm*.deb files has not been enabled.

I setup my own PPA for MythTV v36 as an interim solution until the official repository has ARM64 builds. I attempted to build on Noble and Resolute. Noble built without issue, but Resolute failed during configure.

The error was:

cd mythtv && ./configure --compile-type=profile --prefix=/usr --runprefix=/usr --enable-lirc --enable-audio-alsa --enable-audio-oss --enable-dvb --enable-firewire --enable-joystick-menu --with-bindings=perl --enable-pic --perl-config-opts="INSTALLDIRS=vendor" --enable-libvpx --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libx264 --enable-vdpau --disable-opengl --disable-vaapi
Need either OpenGL, OpenGLES or Vulkan. None found!

I looked through the history of the Debian rules file in this repo and the configure script in the MythTV repo, but nothing was apparent to me that explains the failure. It doesn't seem like the configure options have changed recently and these options work on Noble, so I assume the issue lies in package changes in Resolute.

Can you get to the config.ep in the build environment? That would probably provide a clue. It says it needs opengl/es or vulkan, but it looks to me like opengl is enabled by default (but disabled in the command line quoted above), and opengles and vulkan are disabled by default (and not enabled on the command line).

But then I get a little confused by configure.

# we need either OpenGL or OpenGL ES and 'ideally' the same version that Qt was
# configured with. Linking to both can cause problems on some systems.
# opengl is enabled by default (and hence opengles is disabled by default)

and then

enabled opengles && enable opengl

and

if ! (enabled opengl || enabled vulkan); then
    die "Need either OpenGL, OpenGLES or Vulkan. None found!"

which seem to imply that opengl is required with opengles.

I don't think I can access any build outputs from Launchpad other than the log and the packages if the build is successful.

Based on this section:

and particularly this line:

qt_opengles_check && enable opengles && disable opengl && echo Qt built for OpenGL ES

Maybe opengles is enabled automatically if the conditions are right (i.e., qt_opengles_check passes). I don't see Qt built for OpenGL ES in the build log. Perhaps the configure options are relying on opengles getting enabled and in Resolute, something is missing that is causing the Qt check to fail.

It's been a long time since I looked at a configure script though, so I might be missing something.

For the Noble build that works, I do see this in the log output from configure with the same options:
