I'm a Computer Science Technology student living in Montreal 🎇. I write code, break things (sometimes on purpose), and try to figure out how to secure them.
I touch a bit of everything, but here’s what I spend most of my time on:
- Web: HTML, CSS, JS/TS, React, PHP, WordPress. I've built sites and apps—some worked perfectly, others... taught me valuable lessons.
- Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell. If a task is repetitive, I write a script for it.
- Low-level: C, C++, Rust. Because it's important to know what's actually happening under the hood.
- Systems: Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL). I enjoy tinkering with servers and environments.
- Tools: Git, Docker, SQL. The essentials you actually need to get things done.
This is where I'm heading. I hold the Google Cybersecurity Certificate and I'm really into SIEM, IDS/IPS, and network security fundamentals. I try to apply a "security-first" mindset to my projects, even if it's just a simple Python script.
- Finishing up my DEC and looking for junior or mid-level roles in cybersecurity or software development.
- Wrangling with Rust (it's tough, but totally worth it).
- Fun fact: I ran a robotics day camp in my last job. Yes, I spent time explaining to 7-year-olds why their robot was spinning in circles.
A few things I've worked on:
- simacosta.dev: My own portfolio website to show people what I have worked on...
- Mineclonia Server: A server of the open source game Mineclonia for the spanish-speaking gamer community
- Solitary Game: Multi-platform, terminal-based solitary game written in C++ using the ncurses library for a school project
