src/trace_client.py is re-vendored from trace-client-python 0.4.0 to 0.4.1 (release: https://github.com/Stephenson-Software/trace-client-python/releases/tag/0.4.1). The vendored file is identical to trace_client/trace_client.py at that tag apart from the repository's existing one-line docstring note ("Vendored into ... unmodified apart from this note."), which is kept.

The only change in 0.4.1 is the usage-reporting link in the client's own doc comment: it pointed into the private trace repository, which answers 404 for everyone else, and now points at the public page https://danielstephenson.dev/usage-reporting. The version string moves to 0.4.1 with it. What is reported, and when, is unchanged.

Files changed:

  • README.md
  • src/trace_client.py
  • tests/test_trace_client.py

Tests or notes that pinned the vendored version (0.4.0) are moved to 0.4.1. Past CHANGELOG entries are left as they were. The program's own version is not bumped.

Tests run locally: python -m pytest -q (Python 3.12): 965 passed; python3 web/build_zip.py succeeds.

0.4.1 points the usage-reporting link in the client's doc comment at
https://danielstephenson.dev/usage-reporting instead of the private trace
repository; the version string moves with it. Tests and notes that pinned
0.4.0 are updated.
