need to fix this, the new basemap version gives an error in line 269 of peakdetect because it expects a matrix, not an array. This conflict only happens when using contourf with basemap, didn't use to happen with an older version of matplotlib (I checked and the two versions I have of mpl_toolkits.basemap are the same)
