Sometimes not rebuilding after update

Since some version already not building after source update.
This used to work till before two - three week without problem and now
sometimes I need to stop the webdev serve and rerun after
making changes to source which is not very comfortable.

   • Dart SDK version (dart --version)
   • Operating system and version
2. Execution Details:
   • The exact command used to run webdev (e.g., webdev serve web:8080, webdev serve --auto=restart, etc.).
   • The editor or IDE used when modifying files.
3. Reproduction & Logs:
   • A minimal sample project or clear reproduction steps.
   • The file paths and file types being edited (e.g., .dart, .html, asset files).
   • Terminal output from webdev serve when files are modified and the rebuild fails to trigger.

Environment Details:webdev version (webdev --version or dart pub global list) - now 4.0.1 but this happened with 3.8.0Dart SDK version (dart --version) - already 3.13.0 but it happened with the version before (since a month or more)Operating system and version -

webdev serve --tls-cert-chain=/etc/nginx/ssl/server.crt --tls-cert-key=/etc/nginx/ssl/server.key --no-injected-client
After editing .dart file it doesn't do anything. Afterwards you restart it (stop and run again) and then it works fine. Same project, same versions .etc.And this doesn't happen constantly. It happens sometimes the first time you run it after dart pub upgrade (for example) . Afterwards it works fine

Are you making edits to files in your package? Your mention of the dart pub upgrade has me wondering if you mean those source file changes are getting picked up and rebuilt.

When you create "dependency_overrides" in your pubspec.yaml you may rewrite packages to local folders.
And that has worked for me for years.
When you change something on local packages. webdev rebuilds.
But now it won't work everytime.

Usually happen when you start webdev serve it doesn't rebuild on change.
You just stop and re run and it starts working but it's annoying.

Do you know if something changed here in the build repos that could be causing edits to local dependency overrides to not trigger a rebuild? Should this issue get moved to the build repo?

Yes, this sounds like a build_runner issue. Thanks.

The most recent release was a big refactoring, so there is plenty of scope for new bugs. In fact there are a few known ones I'm working through now, aiming for a bug fix release this week. Maybe it helps with this issue, maybe not--if not I will dig deeper.

A repro would be helpful of course :)
