The README pairs the bundled tzdata version with the tz package version they were released together with, so this line should only change alongside a version bump, not in the data-only commit. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

There was recently a new release of the tz database (2026c). Here is the PR with the updated data set.
Note: the README's "As of version X, tz uses tzdataY" line is left as tzdata2026b here — it pairs the bundled tzdata version with the package version it shipped with, so both need bumping together at release time (mix.exs
@versionand the README line).
