Rework portfolio around current projects and technical writing

Why

The site front page read like a documentation handbook: stale project emphasis, no single index of live project docs, and navigation that buried the person behind the writing.

What changed

• Registry-driven portfolio — data/projects.yaml feeds homepage current work, Projects, and documentation sites via scripts/generate_portfolio.py (validated in CI before mkdocs build --strict).
• Homepage — keeps Geospatial Systems, Data, and Strange Machinery; surfaces PARQONAUT, dots, and NUMBRANE; writing and Just for Fun entry points without repeating the full nav tree.
• Navigation — Home, Projects, Writing (doctrine, ADRs, best practices, deep dives, tutorials including Just for Fun), About. Removed overlapping Lab tab (redirect to Just for Fun).
• BlackLake — Python blacklake and Rust s3-rust-data-portal listed separately (related names, different repos).
• Personal scope — brief ORNL disclaimer on About/footer; less absolute “production-ready everywhere” language on landing copy.
• Editorial — public pages trimmed to reduce portfolio/marketing voice, duplicate taxonomy explanations, and generator implementation details on visitor-facing pages.

Taxonomy

• Best Practices / Tutorials / Just for Fun contracts unchanged; index intros tightened.
• Moved: Glitch Observatory → Just for Fun (redirect from Python Development path).
• Audit: content-taxonomy-audit-2026-09-30.md
